July 31, 2019 - Following the last 2 withdrawals and related, the Food and Drug Administration US advises consumers to avoid buying or eating all the treats for pets pig ear .. . and retailers to stop selling these products.
What has caused the FDA alert?
Along with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the FDA is investigating an alleged link between ear pet treats for pig and human salmonellosis cases.
At the July 31, 2019, the CDC reported that there are now 127 cases of human infection linked to exposure to pig ear pet treats with Salmonella.
Twenty-six people have been hospitalized. No deaths.
The FDA has traced some of the delights pig ear disease cases associated with sources in Argentina and Brazil.

The FDA is working with the companies concerned to remove ear pet treats pork on the market and identify the places that may have been distributed.
The investigation is ongoing. FDA will provide the public with new information as it becomes available.
What to do?
The FDA and CDC recommend that people avoid buying any pet or feed is pig's ear right now.
